Privacy Policy

Meteoropath

Last updated: January 29, 2025

Meteoropath is designed with your privacy in mind. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it's used.

Information We Collect

Location Data

When you grant permission, Meteoropath accesses your device's location to fetch weather data for your area. Location is used only to request weather information and is not stored on any server.

You can also search for cities manually without enabling location access.

How We Use Your Information

Your location coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo, a free weather API service, to retrieve current conditions and historical weather data. Open-Meteo does not require user identification and processes requests anonymously.

We do not:

  • Create user accounts or profiles
  • Track your usage or behavior
  • Collect analytics or crash reports
  • Share data with advertisers
  • Store your location on external servers

Data Storage

All preferences, including your saved location, are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data is not transmitted anywhere and is removed when you delete the app.

Third-Party Services

Open-Meteo API

Meteoropath uses Open-Meteo to fetch weather data. Only your latitude and longitude are sent to retrieve forecasts. Open-Meteo's privacy policy is available at open-meteo.com/en/terms.

Apple Services

Location services are provided by Apple's CoreLocation framework. Reverse geocoding (converting coordinates to city names) uses Apple's MapKit. Apple's privacy policy applies to these services.

Children's Privacy

Meteoropath does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
